The Falkens look like the grippiest of the bunch so I would go with those. I doesn't matter if it's on a caddy or not, grippy tires are better than not so grippy tires regardless of what it is going on.

have you ever used that brank before. I have not which is my only hesitation.. Hate that I have to aim lower tier on my tires right now but it's all I can afford.. bah.

Yes I have used the Falken FK452 and I liked them a lot.
but I've also used the Falken ZE-912 and those were not that great.
The way I see it is for $115/piece the falkens are a mid level falken tire. I rather have a higher end tire from a "cheap" brand than the cheapest tire from a "good" brand if that makes any sense at all. A $115 goodyear I imagine is going to suck balls.

Falken ZIEX. I've got ZE-912s on my 900, grippy as fuck. Had ZE-512s on my Focus, excellent tires all around. Never had a lick of trouble and offer performance far above their price point. I'll likely be getting some Azenises for my S40 when these Pilot Sports run out.

912s are great for the right application. They suit my 900 SPG just perfectly. They don't like cold too much though

And that's exactly why I did not like them I live in a VERY cold area. They were probably the worst all season I ever used. But I guess what do you expect for $80/each.

They really should market the 912 as a basement bargain summer tire because that's really what they are.

Ok so your links show this is for a 2004 Cadillac Seville. Do you live somewhere that gets snow? Do you have to get them at Pep Boys?

I agree because in the summer they were perfectly fine.

well I live in the north my self and cold weather/snow is something I have to live with. you said the falkens you had were not good with that?

ever deal with snow with them?

Some are good some are not so great. Reading the reviews on that particular Falkens they seem to be pretty good. I have nothing against Falken at all and I would use them again without hesitation.
Out of the choices you listed the Falkens would be my top choice.

Yup. The 512s dealt with snow, ice and rain well. The 912s, like I mentioned in Luc's thread, aren't good because they're more of a summer tire than anything. Those 329s look good for all weather, though if it were me I'd like more siping for the white stuff
Disclaimer: I live in Denver where we go from 80 degrees to 3 feet of snow in a night

That is correct a 2004 Seville. Yes lots of snow and no but the price is right.

I took a peek at the reviews & surveys on Tire Rack. Of these 3 choices, the General RT43s are best rated in the snow. So of these, that would be my choice.
Otherwise you could look at the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus, or Continental TrueContact. They come in your size and have higher winter ratings, but are also newer tires with less total number of people filling out the ratings.

if you are bored, would you mind picking a few from here to look at? from $120 each and under.

They've got the Pirellis I mentioned for $114.98 each , and the Continentals for $110.98 each .
But I mean, Pep Boys is running that buy 3 get 1 free deal on the General RT43s, so your total cost on a set of those would be a bunch lower.
It looks like Dunn Tire is a more well-reviewed store and they have a price match policy, so if I were you I'd calculate the total cost of the Generals installed at Pep Boys, after the buy 3 get 1 free deal, and have Dunn Tire price match that.
Now here's an opportunity to get a little sheisty. Dunn Tire also says they will "refund you 200% of the difference if you find a lower advertised price."
The Pep Boys price on a set of 4 installed, before tax, is $373.93. Dunn Tire's price total is $479.92. So if they refund you 200% of the difference, that'd be a difference of $105.99, or $211.98 refunded off $479.92, which means a total cost to you of $267.94.
Possibly.

I just set a time to go to dunn tomorrow. I'm gonna grab some p7's.. thank you

Nice, I bet you'll like them. A lot of the reviews are very positive, especially for their winter traction.

yeah me too. All the reviews I saw had them preforming out of their class for the money. I can't wait to get them! I'm picking up two tomorrow then two more with my mid month check next month. I'll swap the ones I get tomorrow to the rear next month and put those up front.
